Giant's Ring

The Giant's Ring is an impressive prehistoric monument near Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is a type of henge dating back to the Neolithic period, built around 2700 BC, making it older than the Egyptian pyramids. The monument consists of a circular earthwork about 180 meters in diameter, surrounded by an earth wall approximately 3.5 meters high. Within this circle is a small passage grave with a west-facing entrance.

The exact function of the Giant's Ring has not been fully determined to this day. It is believed to have served as a gathering place or memorial for the dead.
